793 After Hours Texting Policy

Effective Date:

Revision Date:

After- Hours Texting Policy

Purpose:

To establish clear expectations regarding communication with supervisors outside of regular work hours.

Policy Statement:

While we understand that certain situations may require urgent communication, we ask that all non-emergency messages to supervisors be sent during regular business hours (e.g. Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM). This policy helps support healthy work-life balance and ensures that communication is managed effectively.

Guidelines:

1. Non-Urgent Matters:

-Please refrain from texting or calling supervisors after hours for non-urgent issues.

-Use email or save the message for the next business day, when it will be addressed promptly.

2. Urgent or Emergency Situations:

-If an issues is truly urgent (e.g., last minute call-out, safety concern, or critical client issue), texting after hours is acceptable.

-Please be clear and concise in the message and note the urgency.

3. Respect for Personal Time:

-Supervisors are not expected to respond to messages outside of work hours unless it is an emergency.

-Messages sent after hours may not receive a response until the next business day unless marked urgent.

Consequences of Non-Compliance:

Repeated after-hours communication for non-urgent issues may result in a reminder of this policy and further discussion with management if the behavior continues.

Questions:

If you unsure whether a situation qualifies as urgent, please use your best judgement or wait until regular business hours to reach out.
